Welcome to simone.paolucci.name
This is my personal website.
This site will talk about me, IT and my other passions.
To start I present you Wiball, the nice little ball that sits on the keyboard, it's the mascot of the projext
xnowi and the website simone.paolucci.name.
The image was created by Elisa Ragni, I invite you to visit his
Facebook page
so you can congratulate them in person ;).
Oh! I forgot, my name is Simone. Nice to "meet" and thanks to "read", I appreciate it.
I know it seems obvious to say, and a "virtual meeting" is not always taken seriously,
but maybe if I continue to follow (and maybe you'll learn by interacting too) this "virtuality" will seem more "real".
The site is still under renovation, things may not work and the texts are not yet final.
!!! The translation is made with Google Translate, have pity. I will try to improve it !!!
even if you know English and can help me (send corrections, send me translated texts, etc.), thank you!
My (ex) IT activity
From 2005 to 2010 I worked as a IT consultancy for individual and companies (the previous site you can see into
archive),
a job that I have always appreciated and which I have devoted a lot.
Want for the crisis or because the business is not like to create a website, I've gone out of business that did not
give me the right economically rewarding.
(If you are on this page because you have been a my customer, or were you interested in any service I was perform,
you can use the forum and if I can continue to help ;)
My (new) IT activity
The decision to terminate my business is also liked to the growing passion toward the
free software
and open source,
program such as
GNU/Linux,
LibreOffice
(and many others... maybe in the future could give us some article submitted), to the readings of essays by
Richard Stallman
that I have drive in the philosophy that "hides" behind the free software and all culture related to Open*
very well described in books such as
Open Society by Andrea Piazza
and Wikinomics by Don Tapscott and Anthony D. Williams
(which I suggest you read, obviously ;)
It's said that well begun is half done... so I changed my site (you're reading this) by using, wherever possible,
software libero and open source, self or other authors.
The site, for example, id made with xnowi (my new project for creation of multiple interfaces of the sites),
the Forum is powered by
phpBB. (Yet the developement was done on
Ubuntu,
Apache2,
PHP,
MySql
and Geany text editor).
Free software More precisely, it means that the program's users have the four essential freedoms:
Free software is a matter of the users' freedom to run, copy, distribute, study, change
and improve the software, even sell it, as long as you do not change the
original license.
Many people associate free software for free (freeware, free as free beer), in fact, free software can also be paid.
At this point, many will wonder how you earn a living free software programmer... Well with the services related to software
and to voluntary contributions (read donations).
It is therefore important to support the authors of free software, so that the software will remain free!
I've only done one small step toward a larger world... then give me a "big good luck", I will ;)
(or if you feel magnanimous donations are welcome, thanks).
Reading and writing
The first passions (or rather the second, afer programming) that will go for will be reading and writing.
I did not start as many people read at an early age, my passion for reading started in the late middle school,
with reading fantasy as
the dragonlance Dragonlance saga,
Lord of the Ring e
The cycle of Landover.
If you use Anobii
can peep my bookshelf bookshelf
((one might say, 'Tell me and I'll go look at who you are? ').
Perhaps as a natural evolution, is that during high school I dabbled in writing short stories and poetries,
you can read something on the portal
Magic-Skye.it.
Do not expect great things, as I told you are an amateur of the pen :), but I think the stories are compelling and valgone
few hours of your valuable time :)
Presto (always say :p) will move stories and poetries on this site, renewing the graphics and maybe add some fresh news :)
Languages (understood as spoken and written)
And finally to close this short (not so) introductory overview of the different passions, this is perhaps the most recent of all:
languages.
In addition to English (which may not be able never learn :p), I am most looking forward also to the Spanish.
Since I started this passion, curiosity and exercise, to write my post on
OperaBlog in multiple languages,
helping with
Google translator, obviously.
Now with the project
xnowi
I'm experiencing the full internalization of the interface and the contents of an entire site
(this site made with xnowi is available in more languages).
Of great help was also here is the internet, and in particular a comminity
Busuu.com
learning that his approach more "playful", "social" and "interactive"
makes you forget the tedious hours spent in school.
I've made many friends here and know you enrich, under the social aspect,
interaction with other people's languages and cultures other than their own,
you'll open your eyes to many things we take for granted.
It listens
Updating the site is just beginning ... stay connected ... hope to see some good! :) hello
